| Exotic Species Management |
As native plants and animals are displaced by more "aggressive" non-native species, the loss of native biological diversity in natural communities is only beginning to be understood. In productive forests, economic losses caused by invasive plants are significant and growing. Important invasive species in our area include garlic mustard, common buckthorn, honeysuckle, and black locust. Whether managing for economic returns or biological diversity, or both, forest landowners are well advised to consider the effects of non-native or invasive species in their management planning.
Clark Forestry can help you identify and manage exotic or invasive plant species on your land. Using principles of integrated pest management, we provide the following invasive/exotic species control services:
Assessment and monitoring of problem invasive or exotic species.
Designing control strategies, which make effective use of your resources and minimize environmental impacts.
Implementing control efforts, using trained, fully insured crews.
WE CANNOT ELIMINATE EXOTIC OR INVASIVE SPECIES. We can consider them in our planning efforts and take cost effective actions to limit their impacts and control their spread. Clark Forestry can provide the level of assistance you need to maintain a functioning and diverse forest environment.
