Natural Area Restoration
Natural Areas, places that support the diversity of native species that form our ecological legacy, are some of our most precious land assets. Natural communities like tallgrass prairies, oak savannas, mesic forests, and wet meadows are a rare and very significant resource. Our first priority as land stewards is to identify and protect existing natural areas by reintroducing the conditions and processes they need to survive. Where native species cannot be recovered on a site (such as former farmlands or highly disturbed forests) restoration also means the more intensive effort to reintroduce native species and re-create a native community.

Clark Forestry has been practicing land restoration since our founding in 1995. We have the experience, the crews, and the equipment to provide a full range of restoration services to private and agency-managed lands. Because of our breadth of experience and the wide range of management tools at our disposal (including prescribed fire management and timber harvest management), we bring the capabilities for cost-effective results in even the most challenging projects.

Our ecologists will identify and evaluate remnant natural communities and make recommendations for their protection and restoration as part of our stewardship planning process. Based on these recommendations, we can implement multi-stage projects using our crews, other contractors, or your own labor sources.
